How long does it take for collagen to work?

I bet you are very excited to start your liquid collagen journey and can't wait to see the first results but isn't it a little too early to call collagen a ''scam'' after 5 days of intake?

The actual time

Every change in your regular routine needs time to pay off. If you started working out recently, you will see some small changes about 30-40 days after but the major ones come a few months from the begging. The same goes for skincare products. Vitamin C is one of the best ingredients for glowing skin but when you first start using it you may feel a weird skin texture and after three months you will get that donuts glazed look.

Collagen supplements also need time to work. It is safe to say that after one month you will see the very first results but that depends also on the person. By the end of the first month, you will notice that some of your deep wrinkles have started to fill up and your fine lines are smoother. Some people are luckier and they get to enjoy a smoother and plumper face within 10-15 days. Your hair will be more shiny and thick and some baby hair may appear. Regarding the health benefits, it takes time to see the results as collagen is mostly used for prevention and has no treatment role, but it can support your already treatments and work better together.

It is really important to note that the time it takes to see results is also affected by other factors, extrinsic and intrinsic.

Once you can't really change the intrinsic factors, you should focus on the extrinsic ones. Collagen will work better and faster once you follow a healthy lifestyle in general. Change your diet into a healthier one, drink at least eight glasses of water every day, and get enough sleep and this is a major upgrade. Other habits like smoking and alcohol consumption are very stressful and time-consuming to get rid of but once you decide, I am sure you got this! Every journey to a healthier lifestyle is difficult, but do not give up and you will not regret it.

Remember consistency is the key to success. Not only in taking collagen supplements but also applies to wellness-building.
